Kill Devil Hills - MFP 8/19/09

from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

the Food Bank of the Albemarle

in partnership with Colington United Methodist Church

will bring the Mobile Food Pantry

to First Flight High School

in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina.

The Mobile Food Pantry will serve area residents that struggle to make ends meet that are in need of emergency food assistance.

Who is eligible?

§ Senior Citizens living on fixed incomes

§ Disabled

§ Any Individual or family currently receiving food stamps.

§ Working Families that are making tough choices between buying food or paying for necessities, such as rent, utilities, medications and gas to go to work.

What do I need to do to get food from the Mobile Food Pantry?

§ Bring picture identification.

§ We recommend that you arrive prepared to carry your groceries back to your home, a laundry basket or wagon or small cart may be needed.

We would appreciate any contribution of excess plastic grocery bags you would like to contribute.

Gates County Mobile Food Pantry 8/20/09 5 PM

Gates County Mobile Food Pantry

location: Gates County Community Center - 130 Hwy 158 West Gatesville, NC 27938

date and time: Thursday August 20th 5:00 pm

The Food Bank of the Albemarle, the North Gates Charge MFP and Churches of Gates County are sponsoring a Mobile Food Pantry grocery distribution. Free groceries to the first 175 families. Must have an ID showing Gates County residency and one distribution per family. Bring boxes or containers to carry food home. For information call Pastor Mike Askew at 333-8811.

Volunteers and sponsors are needed.


End of Life Care Pastoral Training Event 8/24/09 7pm

The Albemarle Hospital’s Pastoral Care Services is conducting a training event for “END OF LIFE CARE” and they are inviting you to attend. It will be a 2 hour session explaining the various care options for patients and how it may pertain to you as a pastor.

Shana Harrison Coming to Edenton UMC 8/26/09

Shana Harrison is an Elder in the NC Conference presently serving as a
missionary in Santiago, Chile, as the Director of the La Esperanza sheltered
workshop and group home. La Esperanza is a ministry with mentally and
physically disabled adults. Shana is ministering with some of the most
vulnerable of God's children.

Shana will meeting with the UMW at Edenton UMC on Wednesday Aug. 26 at noon.
Please bring a brown bag lunch. Drinks and dessert will be provided. For

Healing Conference at Edenton UMC

Edenton UMC will host a one day conference on Healing Prayer on Saturday
August 30 from 10am until 3pm. Our guest speaker will be The Reverend Nigel Mumford, Director of Christ the King Healing Center in Saratoga New York. Father Nigel has been involved in the healing prayer for many years. He serves on the National Advisory Board for Christian Healing Ministries in Jacksonville, Florida with Francis MacNutt, and is VP of Fishnet, an organization to encourage the healing ministry in New England. He is also chaplain of the International Order of St. Luke.


Jesus commissioned his disciples to heal the sick as a means of making disciples. But, has the healing ministry lost its relevance for the church today? How do we bring the healing ministry to life in our churches and restore the vitality of the healing ministry to the everyday ministries of modern disciples?

Come be a part of this exciting re-discovery of our churches ministry.

A Eucharistic Service of Healing Prayer will be held at 7:00 pm in the sanctuary. The public is invited to atend.
