Godspell

Here is the flyer for the much anticipated theatrical production of “Godspell” which is proudly being performed by our District Youth on March 21st & 22nd, 2009 at Edenton. Please spread the news and plan to come and support this endeavor!

Auditions for Godspell will be held on Monday, January 19th, (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day) from 10-2 at Edenton UMC.

The group is looking for talented individuals in the areas for the performing arts, as well as, production management (assistant director, stage manager, property chief and assistants), sound and lighting technicians, and theater management (ushers, ticket managers, house manager).

Dare County Mobile Food Pantry

Location: First Flight High School Parking Lot

Date and Time: Wednesday, October 22nd 5:30 pm-7pm

The Food Bank of the Albemarle and Colington United Methodist Church are sponsoring a Mobile Food Pantry grocery distribution. Free groceries to the first 200 families. Recipients must have an ID showing Dare County residency. Only one distribution given per family. Please bring boxes or containers to carry food home. For information call Rev. Teresa Holloway at 441-5595. Volunteers and sponsors are welcome!

Gates County Mobile Food Pantry

Location: Gates County Community Center - 130 Hwy 158 West Gatesville, NC 27938

Date and Time: Thursday October 16th 5:00 pm

The Food Bank of the Albemarle, the North Gates Charge MFP and churches of Gates County are sponsoring a Mobile Food Pantry grocery distribution. Free groceries to the first 150 families. Must have an ID showing Gates County residency and one distribution per family. Bring boxes or containers to carry food home. For information call Pastor Mike Askew at 333-8811. Scholarships for Renewal Program are Available for EC District Pastors

Duke Endowment Provides Scholarships for Five-Day Renewal Program at the Davidson Clergy Center

The Duke Endowment is offering 9 full scholarships, including travel expenses, for eligible pastors to attend Davidson’s Five-Day Renewal Program.  These grants are open to pastors serving Duke Endowment Rural Churches in both North Carolina Conferences, listed at www.dukeendowment.org. 

Davidson Clergy Center is an ecumenical program in Davidson, NC, offering a Christ-centered program dealing with the whole person that renews your ability to lead and function as a pastor.  Physical training, spiritual direction, small group, and individual counseling are part of the program.  Confidentiality is always honored.

The grant was given to both North Carolina Conference (9 scholarships per conference) through the application of Durham and Asheville Districts.  This renewal program will address comparable questions of health and spirituality; it will be a great way to address such concerns in your life in a holistic and spiritual way, both individualized to you and completely confidential.
